Every month, members will have a contest. Different judges will be appointed each month, but I'm judge for now. The contest
is a poetry contest, and you have to write the best Redwall related poem you can in any form, haiku, free-verse, rhyme...anything,
just so long as it's PG an' all that.
E-mail them to me at
wing_pikepaw@iname.com, and I'll put them up on the site! (Please note-I will do whatever is in my power to prevent plagurists, but be aware that
you're putting your work up online for all to see and I can't control what happens to it!)
Have fun, and let your writing skills go wild!
Cuiasado Sharpedge's Entry
Here I am in the chains that bind me
That bind my body, heart and soul
On this endless trek I find inside me,
My heart is naught but a hollow hole
When was the last time my companions walked beside me
And I wasn’t just a slave in tow?
Now, there is no joy to guide me
Nothing but hate, sorrow and woe
Hate for the fox courses through my veins
Like the blood that gives me life
Hate for the one who forced me here
And turned my glee into strife
Sorrow for the one’s that I left behind
At Redwall my dear home
I now walk in chains to Malkariss
Forced to forever roam
Woe for the pitiful creature I have become
And all of the others around
Woe in knowing that when we die
Our captors shall not make a sound
No sound of sadness or remorse
For those who lie suffering and dead
For the ones that they stole away from home
For the ones to death they lead…
…And yet through it all, I feel something vague
A sort of light in the dreary depths
A vision of a mighty one
Martin’s sword he hefts
I feel that someone far away
Is coming to rescue me
A warrior mighty and strong and brave
The slaves, us, he shall one day free
Warrior, I beckon you now
To travel as fast as your paws can go
To slay the evil fox and his crew
To free us slaves in tow
Pick up your sword, mighty one
And defeat these wretched thieves
Show them that no one takes creatures from Redwall
And with their lives leaves
Promise me that you will come one day
And answer our urgent call
And lead us all back together
All of us back to Redwall.
